RAL de-commissioning Resource Brokers. Full text below. Unlikely, but users and sysadmins may need to change default settings on their UI/ganga configs.
This is the final reminder regarding the decommission of LCG Resource Brokers at RAL Tier1 starting with Monday 1 December, 10:00 UTC when they will be put into 'drain' mode. The already submitted jobs will continue to run and users will be able to retrieve the job outputs until Monday 8 December 14:00 BST. On Tuesday 9 December 10:00 BST the RBs will be stopped and re-deployed by the Fabric team. Monitoring of these machines as lcg-RB will become obsolete and the existing logs will be preserved accordingly with the RAL Tier1 policies.
At the moment just a few users (and VOs) are still using the RB servers, and they have already been contacted separately.
Users are advised to switch job submission via the glite WMS servers at RAL Tier1: lcgwms01 and lcgwms02.gridpp.rl.ac.uk. If submitting via the command line, one should now start using the glite-wms-* utilities (e.g. glite-wms-job-submit, rather than edg-job-submit) using appropriate configured front ends machines or proper configuration files.
If you encounter any problems, please email lcg-support@gridpp.rl.ac.uk
